A diary writing is a type of writing in which a person records an account of their day. We keep track of important and significant days, as well as our personal feelings. As a result, it is a personal document. Diary writing can be based on anything. It can be based on an experience, a description or narration of a specific event or any other thing or activity that the writer thinks is important enough to include in his/her personal diary is diary writing.
Diary writing format:
Just like any other writing practice, a diary writing also has a format. It starts with the date of the entry, which should be written at the top left-hand side of the page. This is followed straight away by the main content, where we write what we saw or experienced on the day of entering it. It is also common to write our reaction to the experiences we had.
Style of a diary writing:
Since a diary writing is a very personal account of what the writer experienced or saw first-hand, it is written in first person.
While writing one, we can use very casual/conversational language. The writer can easily stress on the feelings, emotions, and reactions he/she has gone through during the event in addition to entering the event alone.
Last, but not least, an account so personal as a diary can be written with reference to what the memory offers about the event.

| Saturday, 16th October 2023 Today, I set out on a beautiful journey with my parents. I cannot put into words how happy I am. As it is the weekend, my mother decided that we will go on a two-day trip to a hill station. We started off at 2 AM to Ashville in our car as it was a three-hour drive, and we planned to see the sunrise. We reached Ashville by 5:15 AM and waited for the sunrise. By 5:45 AM, we could see the sun rising up from behind the horizon, and boy! Trust me, it was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever witnessed. After watching the sunrise, we headed to a restaurant for breakfast. As we planned to go on a trek, we had to be at the starting point by 9 AM. We reached there by 8:45 AM. The guide asked us to follow his instructions closely, which we did. We started the trek soon after. It was quite tiring, yet utterly enjoyable, and my parents and I had an amazing time. We reached the summit of the mountain by 12 PM, where we had our lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon. By 3 PM, we started walking back, after which we headed back to the motel. My joy knows no bounds today. As my first day is drawing towards its end, I eagerly wait for the final day of our trip and what it holds for us. |
