List out the unknown words 

  • Bear 
  • Eats 
  • Den 
  • Leaves 
  • Warm 

Find the meaning of the unknown words 

  • Bear – a large heavy animal with long shaggy hair 
  • Eats – put food in mouth, chew and swallow  
  • Den – wild mammals home 
  • Leaves – structure of a plant 
  • Warm – hot 

Let the teacher read the story once again, then students repeat the story after the teacher. 

A Cold Bear 

It is getting cold! 

Bear needs to get ready for winter 

First, he eats a lot 

Next, he finds a den  

Then, he fills the den with leaves, so he will stay warm

Then he is ready for winter.
