Precis Writing
Steps to write a precis:
- Identify key points
- Make notes using key points
- Write the first draft
- Prepare the final precis
Things to remember while writing a precis are:
- Only the absolutely essential information is included.
- The length of a precis is ideally about one-fifth to one-sixth of the original text.
- The language is simple and precise.
- No unnecessary information is included in the precis.
- Keep the information accurate and coherent.
