Explanation: Infrasound and Ultra Sounds
Infrasound:
Sounds that are less than 20hz are called infrasound. Human ear cannot hear infrasound as it has very little frequency.

- Finding out the animal species:
As elephants, giraffe use infrasound to communicate to the herds of the species, usage of infrasound makes it easy to find and examine the species of the animal depending upon the communication signals.
- Medication using the sound echo technique:
This is the new way of medication available to the patients as scientists are using special machinery to trace the ultrasounds used by the animals and then echoing the sounds for the cure of certain diseases; hence infrasound can also be used for medication.

Usage in metals examination:
Ultrasounds are used in the detection of the cracks and the breaks in the metal logs.
Ultrasound waves pass through the metal blocks if there is no crack or defect. But the waves reflect if there is a crack or a defect, and in the process are detected by detector. Hence the cracks are detected by the ultrasound.
Usage medical purposes:
- Echocardiography (ECG): This technique is used to detect the patients’ heart problems. The ultrasound waves are passed through the patient’s heart, and the reflection is studied as the image of the heart appears on the detector.
- Breaking kidney stones: Ultrasound wave is used to detect the stones in the kidney. The stones are broken down with the use of ultrasounds.
- Ultrasound scanner: Ultrasound is used to detect the problems in the internal organs. The ultrasound waves are passed through the patient’s body, and the waves reflect with the dimension of the organs on the detector, which can be further studied for the treatment.
Usage in finding the distance:
Ultrasounds are used to detect the distances in the sea. The submarines use SONAR. The ultrasound waves are sent into the sea to detect the obstacle and the enemy location in the warfare.
